Baptists:
To the Faculty & Students who suddenly find themselves without a home

In remembrance of Dr. Virginia Connally, Lay Leaders, Doris & Jim Taylor & the many Donors who mentored, encouraged & gave generously of their estates, to the Faculty & Students who suddenly find themselves without a HOME, I share heart thoughts.

We have not yet been privy to facts, to correspondence, to conversations that brought about the sudden closing of a thriving institution; however, body language, whispers, rumors, & rumblings remind those of us who lost our HOMES in the TAKEOVER in our recent Baptist history & raise their ugly head, and we use our LESSONS LEARNED, refusing to sit quietly.

Let us move forward cooperating in a spirit of unity with all the facts before us, all voices heard with respect, & pray for a new day in this beloved institution where called, gifted students come to prepare to live their call. In remembrance of all who have given generous gifts, may they be honored with faithful faculty teaching for years to come, may legions of students past & present gather to give thanks for their GOD GIFT of a Seminary where they shared fellowship & sweet grace as they prepared to minister around the globe.

May we learn from our past & never be left without a home, never fearing the question, WHAT NEXT?

Heart Thoughts from one who has walked the mile, Helen Moore Montgomery, Lay Minister to Students, Equipping Laity 1952-present
